Steven Wei
President
Steven Wei, MS, MPH, PA-C

Steven Wei graduated from the Baylor College of Medicine PA program, and also received his Master of Public Health from the UT School of Public Health in Houston.  For over 12 years, he has worked in the hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) surgical service at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and currently serves as a mid-level provider supervisor in the Department of Surgical Oncology.  For the past six years, he has served as an adjunct clinical instructor for the Baylor PA program. He also serves as the Fellowship Education Coordinator for the MD Anderson PA Post-Graduate Residency Program in Oncology, as well as Director of the PA Journal Club.

Steve has a clinical research interest in liver and biliary malignancies, and has co-authored several publications on these subjects.  He speaks regularly at local, state, and national meetings on the subject of GI malignancies, and is a community public health advocate for hepatitis and liver cancer prevention.  Steve is a former recipient of the Geneva and James Briscoe Physician Assistant Award of Excellence.

Heather Hylton

Heather Hylton, PA-C

Heather Hylton is currently in her 10th year of clinical practice and has worked in inpatient hematologic malignancies and stem cell transplant at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for over 5 years. She presently serves as the CME and education chair for the APAO as well as co-chair of the 2011 APAO CME conference in Chicago. She has also served as co-chair for the Amelia Island and Boston APAO conferences. Outside of these APAO duties, she is active with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), serving on the Integrated Media and Technology Committee.

David A. Johnson
Past President
David A. Johnson, PA-C

David Johnson received his Physician Assistant and Bachelor’s of Medicine degrees from the University of Florida.  Mr. Johnson is a Physician Assistant in the Sarcoma Program at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fl.  He has more than 18 years experience concentrated in the field of orthopaedics and eight years experience specializing in orthopaedic oncology.  He is the Advanced Practice Professionals Practice Leader at the Moffitt Cancer Center.  David is the course director and CME Chair for the Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology (APAO) 13th Annual Conference in 2010 and has served as the course director and CME Chair for past conferences in 2006 and 2008.  He is a member of the Florida Association of Clinical Oncology, American Academy of Physician Assistants and the APAO.  Mr. Johnson has been published multiple times and gives regular presentations on bone and soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic bone disease.

Richard J. Lindsay

Richard J. Lindsay, PA-C

Richard is a graduate of Long Island University – Southampton Campus with a B.S. degree in Marine Biology. He spent 20 years as an Associate Scientist studying marine mammal/fisheries interactions in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and logged many months at sea aboard both research and commercial fishing vessels.
His interests turned to medicine when a physician friend encouraged him to volunteer at a VA hospital where he worked in the Emergency Department.
He returned to Long Island University – Brooklyn Campus to enter the Physician Assistant Program where he completed another degree and began his career in Internal Medicine working in an inner city clinic.
After several years, he was asked to join a community hematology/oncology group. His interests then led him to his current position at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a student preceptor and resident advisor in the Dept. of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. His service to the APAO includes 2 years as Chief Delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates.

Eucharia Iwuanyanwu

Eucharia Iwuanyanwu, PA-C

Eucharia Iwuanyanwu is currently employed at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and has been a practicing PA in oncology since 2003. She has been involved with the APAO since 2005 and has served as the APAO’s Treasurer for several years. She is also the Founder of Africa Cancer Care Inc. (ACCI), an organization that provides cancer awareness health fairs, screening events for African Americans and minority populations in the Houston area, and missions to Africa to treat oncology patients.
Eucharia is originally from Nigeria. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, obtained her Masters with emphasis in medical oncology from the University of Nebraska and Doctor of Health Science from Nova South Eastern, Fort Lauder Dale, Florida.

Stacey Becker

Stacey Becker, MS, PA-C

Stacey Becker is originally from Highland Park, Illinois in suburban Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Lehigh University. Stacey then went on to work as an EMT prior to returning to Pennsylvania to complete her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at Arcadia University. After graduation Stacey returned to the Chicago area where she initially worked in neurosurgery. In 2007 she accepted a role working as the PA for the Thoracic Oncology Program at NorthShore University HealthSystems and currently continues in this role. Stacey has been a member of APAO since 2009 and was a member of the conference planning committee for the 2011 meeting in Chicago.

Shannon Holloway

Shannon Holloway, MHS, PA-C

Shannon B. Holloway is a Physician Assistant on the Inpatient Leukemia Service at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York, New York. Previous appointments include Faculty Staff Associate on the Hepatology Clinical Trials Unit and Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology Service, both at Weill-Cornell. She earned her Master of Health Sciences degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina.

Shannon was the 2007 Continuing Medical Educational Chairperson and Course Co-Director for the Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology (APAO) Tenth Annual National Conference. She also served on the 2009 APAO Annual Conference Planning Committee and as Moderator and Advisory Committee member for the Chemotherapy Foundation Symposium’s New Perspectives in Oncology Conference 2007-2011. She is the founder of Oncology Matters, a medical education initiative, and has lectured on numerous cancer-related topics locally and nationally throughout her career.
